Hey eeryone
I'm a beginner in making psytrance, i use Reason 5 and everything is going fine except that i can't seem to make a typical darkpsy beat i'm trying al kinds of things but i thought maybe someone here knows

own 'Dark High Level' Try connect with yours and translate/transfer it into your producing program .

all you need is two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls.

standard psykick with a thick growl bassline..
reason has synths.. thor, subtractor and the other one. one osc basses...see which one sounds better and have the best tight adsr envelopes
better to use sample kicks.. don't know if kong can do them right

theres no such thing as "tipical darkpsy beat"
thats why its dark.. it has no default/rules. D
but yeh, heavy bass and round kicks help..
but still.. cosmo is dark, i think, and i hasnt much of that filled big bass...
dark owns I want a spare brain.... or 2.

watch this, its a great tutorial and should help you out alot, there are lots of tutorials that follow this aswell eventualy makeing a whole track.
very helpfull, ulike alot of the sarcastic comments you see in here when you ask a simple question. iv noticed alot of questions by beginers are answered with coments like "lol not this again" i think they have forgoten that there was once a time when they too didnt know a thing.

One of the major reasons people say 'lol not this again' is not necessarily beacuse they hate newbies asking questions..in fact this site has a lot of people who are more than happy to help...it happens moreso (imo) because it is usually very apparent that the OP has:
1) not used the search function or taken the time to read the stickies/MOTHER OF threads that would almost certainly have answered the question, or at least given them enough info so they could actually ask a question in an intelligent way
2) asked a question so broad/general that attempting to answer it is pointless
Socratic method people! The best way to a good answer is to ask a good question. "how do I make a typical darkpsy beat" is not a good question.
My advice is to spend a couple days reading the forum before attempting to make a thread like this.
