(IMHO)
a lot of artists were mentioned here. many of them produce so called "dark" music, but not all of them are psychedelic. perhaps that the matter of a taste or it depends on parameters of perception.
anyway more exapmles of tribal producers would be great to see. but from shamanic Person, not just from projects who do what ever it is and put some natural/shamanic samples in some tracks.. If you wear a t-shirt "I AM SHAMAN" that doesn't mean anything except that u wear a t-shirt. That doesn't make u shaman.

Been digging me some Brazilians like Meteorburn(ZOMG PRODUCTION QUALITY HIGH), Karmazon, Cannibal Barbecue...
Also Dohm and Cenotes and all that stuff on those releases on Ektoplazm that are so sweet. Hexcellent fuhorestish but still got that flubbadubba bass. Cenotes-Gnomadelic is one of my favorite tracks right now.
Most of the stuff Ive heard on Wonk#Ay rec's free releases have been awesome, in particular Chris Rich-Domino Effect (another ZOMG PROD QUALITY) and STI and One-Lok-Sludge and Slime.
Then theres stuff like Tsabeat, Energy Loop, Cactus, Doof records stuff, Guinea Pigs and the like (mostly Israeli) that dont sound dark, but can work well at night, during the morning, day, or even indoors at a club or smth. This stuff is about as far from commersh isra-cheese as possible without leaving Israel, intelligent, powerful, innovative, and FUN! Smiley stuff that makes you feel like dancing a lot more.
Most of the stuff I would also mention has already been mentioned, Terminator, Dominator, Suria, Atriohm, Encephalopaticys, Imaginary Sight, Ocelot (though DONT CALL HIS PSY DARK  )...
I wont get into a semantic debate but to me, its hard to find 'darkpsy' that sounds dark, as in dark ambient dark, the kind of stuff that you may not want to listen to walking alone late at night on a cloudless night... I guess its called dark cuz its night, which is dark, and to some dark and night are interchangable (maybe? idk)... Anyway it saves tons of explanation if I just say 'darkpsy' so thats usually what I say...

Yes you said Tribal and I know what it is. I made the music. But this is a topic about Dark artists which my music got nothing to do with. And dark tribal is a different thing than the music i made with Elysium

@eniChkin Project thanks , yeah I often think that the productions in full-on dark have clearer structures... or at least are better understandable, but no doubt there's killer dark-psy out there as well! |
