Debatable... I'd say Sandman was there as well... a lot of his early work was very dark & industrial sounding...
Tim Schuldt as well...
There were many artist's in the 90's who explored the dark side of psy trance, so I don't think we can clearly say who it was...

who knows man.. probably someone who's not known.. ( maybe someone who might never have released anything.. but played at the cult parties.. and strarted showing 'real' psychedelic sounds.)
Most likely all kinds of people in different places pioneered it..
"Dark-psytrance" ; an eternal abstract concept.

defiantly xenomorph , parasense , sandman , for the first 'wave' , later fungus funk and dark nebula and even later parvati records took control  this days many mix gabba and hardcore into the 'dark' sounds but that lost the darkness and sounds childish to me

Before saying who pioneered Dark Psy Trance one must define what he means when saying Dark Psy Trance.
Sandman,X Dream,The Delta and more people were making "dark psy trance" many many years ago but i doubt that the people today refer to tracks like Nostradamus by Sandman when they mention the words dark psy trance.
For me the artists that pioneered what people today call Dark Psy Trance (and i mean music from the likes of Kindzadza,Psykovsky,Fungus Funk and the likes) are ofcourse Parasense who were something totally new when they appeared in this scene.
