Harmor since bass quality is important, Harmor has 3 Sub-harmonic bass boosters and using the Harmonizer, you can create rounded vivid peaks to make it stand out.           www.wizanda.com www.soundcloud.com/wizanda

If I were giving someone advice on how to create a bass, that last thing I would do would be to mention processing like this.

The bass patch and the interaction of that bass patch with the kick drum is IMO much more useful.

Processing is the frosting on top of an already good cake. If your cake is dry and crumbly even the best frosting won't make up for your poor baking skills.

Darkpsy bass is not significantly different than Fullon bass a lot of the time, just lower filter cutoff and lower register, sometimes a bit dirtier from distortion.

I would suggest getting a hold of sylenth1 for synth,a good eq like fab filter, a good distortion unit like decapitator or fab filter Saturn, as well as a decent compressor. That's all you really need for awesome bass IMO.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

ACE for makin ACE snappy full bass is ACE
set that filter to snap "on" to the Vel all the way, make your groove then your away, this baby doesnt even need much processing

They weren't asking how to make a bass sound, more a quality Vst to produce one; so was partially explaining some of the new features in Harmor, that can help create even more vivid bass sounds, without needing to add icing, as its all built in.           www.wizanda.com www.soundcloud.com/wizanda

Cronox2.....it's what the big boys use. You need to treat it with some light distortion/fuzz and take time with the settings to get the best results

i dont make dark psy or listen to it but you should be able to make it with most good vst. you just need a saw wave, an evelope, eq, and you need to play around with them, it can take hours and hours if you new to it (which im asumeing you are newish if your asking this question about "the best vst for bass") everyone thinks the same question when they first start out and are finding it tricky to get the sound they want. i use sylenth1 for all my bass now because i can get such a wide veriaty of sound from it, other people use diffrent ones, find the one that fits you. good luck.
the components of a track you are looking for are all there in the tracks you listen to, upload a track you like and listen to it over and over, even copy it just so you can learn abit, make some notes e.g...1-8 bars kick and bass 9-16 hi hats and claps... whatever, but you couls basicly write down a whole track on paper.

finally someone said it. only what i disagree is that the vst doesnt have to be good. just any that has osc retrigger / phase lock.

but Moss, are u serious about that question? Have you tried the new feature on the forum that is search?

honestly the question is basic and pretty senseless.

Your joking aren't you mate, I know plenty of pro producers, who are cutting edge psy producers who use it day in day out....even in 2012!!!
