Slytrance & Onionbrain - Overthought
does anyone know this number? I'm not really after the bass but more the sound that comes with the bass if the understand .. believes it is massive and synth1 .. but the preset .. or just something similar to it so you get such a forest sound |

cool track, the bass is sine wave probably, sidechained to kick with a compressor. the growly lead is some sort of distorted saw wave. the timbre and processing is what makes it special, also the mix is very good and that plays its role.

no, why pitch mod? the bass consists of 2 parts (layers) - lower and higher (well, technically higher part isn't a bass, its a more of a lead). lower part, actual bass, produces the low end and subs, might be a sine or steeply low passed saw wave. another layer is playing same pattern as the lower part but processed differently. high passed, distorted, etc. this layer brings the timbre to the bass.

Yep, I usually work like that when going for more beefy, in your face, bass lines. Sometimes I use the triangle wave instead of the sine though.
Was asking that because for slower music, a sine wave with some pitch mod - same way one makes the kicks but less pronounced - would be interesting, no?
