Here's how:

Pretend to be a hot chick on msn & chat with iron madness..Invite him over for a drink..Tie him up until he shows you how to do it

Sorry dude i can't explain how to do the exact synthesis for such a lead..Though i think you mightbe able to get a similar sounding one out of Vanguard or Albino..Try to get your hands on cosmosis's albino 2 presets, i think there were a couple of similar sounds leads in there..Hope someone else's help is more specific & constructive!

rotfl

i've joking around with that idea for a long time... i think i once told colin i was planning on kidnapping him:)

i think that lead is the usual HP or BP filtered saw wave with FM and or detune...

iron madness used to be here posting tracks, so i guess you can ask him directly           roll a joint or STFU :)

yeah i think sy000321 is right,
it sounds like something Synth1 could do..
or a nordlead would probably also do the trick..

What exactly sounds?? in the beggining? This is Albino. Square oscilators with pwm and cream hp24 filter and some filter overdrive. Something like this.Later i think this ImpoOSCAR vst (have like this type of oscilator)or maybe some Junglist VST (have like oscar special type of oscillator).

Just write somthing in here (Other topic) About 'G.m.s bass' And here its come again .. Stop asking how to make otheres bass , Otheres kiks , Otheres synth's and otheres leads , whats happend to you all .. ?

For your question .. Think everything can be an 'Dark lead' , Its not the lead that make it be dark its you .. With tools , Machines and Vsts .

Good luck !

yeah this is albino for sure... but this lead is technically not good... too much high, not so much mid and down-mid... it's too "harshy", don't like it           http://www.weirdandfreak.up.pl

For starters try an arpeggiator on a nice dark lead sound with a good chromatic type chord (bunched up notes)..

I'm dying to know how Highko gets his synths to sound how they do. Sounds like they are slicing the fabric of reality apart. Anyone give some tips to achieving something similar? I really think tips on how to create synths you hear and really enjoy, help alot.
It's kind of hard to make your own sound when you don't understand how, and its totally different to hear something and have someone show you how to make, rather than read a bunch of synth manuals.

C1 scale, hipass filtering (410hz) distortion and EQ (boost at 2000-5000) reverb(if u like)LfO to filter cutoff and u can add phaser flanger chorus etc etc....

I think its good to try and reproduce sounds. Ive always thought that if you can make your favorite song, like an exact duplicate, then you can pretty much go ahead and make whatever you want. You cant make a Mona Lisa with only basic knowledge of painting. Well I guess you could if you tried hard enough, though its easier if you know how others made their own Mona Lisas.

Zoopy: Ive made some synths sound similar to Highko, specifically Synth1. I usually use a sine or square osc on on the first one, then a square on the second osc. Turn up the FM beyond 50%, usually I turn the basenote down 2 octaves, dont turn on the Ring, it cancels the FM. Mess with the filter LFOs and all that. Usually I have the Chorus on 4x, with the rate at 25%, the feedback and depth at 100%. This makes a bubbly, analogish, bleepy computerish sort of sound. "Acid lines" are a description I hear often. THis is just one way Ive found, Im sure with a little trial and error you can find something you like.

ya disco/synth1

fm interaction between the osc, lfo on pitch, arpeg/gate

very simple and imo overused sound
