well I just read this thread from top to bottom and learned a lot.
1) I got a lot of nasty new artists to look up and giggle and squeal and stomp around and shuffle in my living room about in the darkness and step on cats about. (accidentally of course, I am not a cat stomper)

Well coming from a background of Epic Trance/Pop Trance back in the late 90s early 00s and finding Goa Trance through a very, very, very kick ass individual on Starcraft when I was about 13/14, I love Psychedelic Trance (I use the word Psychedelic to include Goa, Psy, Dark-Psy, etc...)
I then was told about "Psy-Trance" and found a compilation: Psychedelic Yours 3. I didn't know this was Dark Psy and back then I really didn't listen to it much because it was way too obscure for me.. I then found artists like Alien Project, Astrix and the like and was into Psy-Trance for a while until one day I came across Kindzadza. I instantly fell in love and then went back to my Psychedelic Yours 3 compilation (Btw.. Snake It Easy - Para Halu is most defineatly the best track on that compilation set) and all that good stuff. Found a few Penta compilations and fell in even more love
I must say that if I was to choose a genre of Psy-Trance, I'd go with the Dark Full-On Psy-Trance from artists like Kindzadza (Waves From Inner Space is the best album to date that I've ever heard from any Psy-Trance artist) Penta, Para Halu, Ohm Gnome, Kashyyyk, and man the list goes on and on and on..
When it comes to Goa, I prefer the Darker stuff as well... I'm not an 'evil' person or anything like that, its just that when I listen to the darker music, I'm able to free my pent up frustrations more, by just banging my head really hard, pumping my fist in the air (kind of like those goofy Hardcore folks ) and just letting the waves of sonic bliss over-run my consciousness.
I love the feel of the Full-On bassline rumbling through my insides and the spastic metalic noises piercing into my very mind and sending me on through a journey into the sonic thoughts of these individuals.
I produce Psychedelic Trance... So when people tell me that the stuff is 'easy' I tend to get a bit heated.. I tell them all to go make some music like Kindzadza then get back to me.

I totally understand what your saying Kellimus and thats exactly how I feel. I also hate when people say its easy. People have made comments to me in the past about how anyone can just take bass line and make it real low and think they r making dark psy. If thats what people really think, then thats just dumb. I think the people who don't understand are just not smart enough to handle its complicatedness. lol

It seems like even though the trance scene in America is still behind the rest of the world in terms of party size, number of artists, etc. that the "darker" music is really taking hold and becoming dominant, even compared to more "established" countries with much more active scenes such as Germany.
I like that.
