Hmmm, I don't know about this one.
Horror psy in my opinion is kinda a dead end genre. I like "heavy" (or whatever you wanna call it it doesn't matter) sounding trance, Furious and KDD etc. But the overtly gore stuff seems kinda mindless.
I think that Mosh pits are negative though. They seem like a male dominated activity that is a representation of hierarchy and ego. Getting wild at a show can be appropriate. I love the disorder and physicality of a punk show though, where we are all pushing each other off the ground but, I just feel like the swinging arms and kicking legs routine is kinda lame.
I guess I'm more community oriented and would like to see women and men enjoying the music and the atmosphere together.
It can be hardcore without being oppressive.

I think you just don't understand. Just because people are moshing and running into people does not mean they are not enjoying the music and the atmosphere. Its just a different kind of enjoyment. This doesn't mean punching people in the face and trying to hurt people. thats just dumb. Like I said b4, the balance between good and evil.

slightly off-topic, but not really.
on the east coast when I was younger, the above statement is EXACTLY what a mosh pit is for. At death metal shows in the early 90's, the object of the mosh pit was to let out all of your anger into other peoples faces, guts, or back of their head by clenching your fists, wearing steel-toed army boots (to inflict as much shin pain on others as possible), and trying to smash everything in your path, human or inanimate.
i never for a second thought that a mosh pit was about community, its all about one persons anger being thrown into a pile with tons of other angry people looking to create a black eye. Some people even go in the pit to RECEIVE a black eye, sado-masochism in full effect.
mosh pits are definitely not conducive to a trance state where you go internally to FIX your inner-pain, not pass that negativity through your fists.
Dance that aggression out, sweat it out, don't pass it onto others.
i'm not hatin on the mosh pit, its very therapeutic if that's your personality type. i would cringe if that ever happened at a trance event though.
We are all family. We put the fun in disfunctional.

I know. Your stuff is more funky which i love. Also Hidroponik I understand what your saying but I think thats cause it was the early 90's and it was still kinda new. Its not like that anymore. I went to see dreamtheater last year which is not a super heavy band but they were playing with between the buried and me and opeth. Everyone just stands there. I don't get it. I was told to calm down by the security cause I was headbanging.

I am not really sure I like the name. Some how it just not associates with the values we are trying to promote in the scene and our personal lifes.
|
|
What exactly associates in values that we are trying to promote in the scene and our personal lives that the name doesn't fit?
|
|
Well everybody promotes different values but I am pretty sure people do not want to promote Cannibalism and Holocaust. The fact I am from Israel does not play part in my comment. |

??? I'm uncertain of these values you speak of can you elaborate? In no way does that name reflect the character of who he is personally...
i mean i'm called VOMIT what exactly would you say i'm promoting to the scene? that I puke alot? no not so much.
best vibes

Ok so please explain the reason behind you being called VOMIT? For sure there is a reason and whatever it is you have the right to have it. But VOMIT some how represents you (whatever that is) other wise why not call yourself any other name. Point being- The fact that the artist called himself "Kannibal Holokaust" has a purpose, a meaning. He has the right to call himself whatever he wants. I am questioning why would you want to call yourself that. |

Hopefully no one is supporting killing and eating people on a large scale. I have more faith in our scene than that. Although there was some definite hostility @ Orb last year. A fight almost broke out on the dancefloor. Never saw that before and I have to say I immediately left and went back to the downtempo stage. talk about a buzz kill. I mean, really? I thought we were all grown up.

Well these names could mean different things. they could be names of things that you might not know about. Like necropsycho. Necro is short for necromancy which is the belief of raising the dead which is kinda cool to me. Also he could of used it cause alot of people play rpg games like WOW or everquest and your character can be a necromancer which can cast spells that drain life and cast spells that raise skeletons as pets to send off to fight. I don't understand why people don't like stuff like that. I think its cool as hell. Like I said b4 if you don't like horror movies and surreal things then you won't like or understand dark psy. THE BALANCE OF GOOD AND EVIL
