Yeah dark psy is rad. It's hard for me to say I like one type of psy over another, but dark psy is up there with the best for me.
I'm from South Africa and the dark scene has only recently started migrating our way 3 years ago.
If you want a dark psy party in the US you should consider contacting the noisy radical crew (pm me if you want details). They are European and bring a dark party out our way once a year. Their party is in about a months time actually. Kashyyk, necropsycho, Highko.. these are some of the names they bring out for their parties.

I think Necropsycho will be in the states in 2010 sometime. I'm hoping it will be somewhere on the east.

The whole issue about the so called "dark psy" is quit interesting,we all have different opinions about it.Myself I listen alot to some producers that one might call dark psy
I also listen alot to goa,ambient non cheesy full on etc.But the hard twilight sounds are really magnetic to me. One of the biggest issue is about what it is,what i am looking for is mystical,spiritual,mind exploring,powerfull vibes and not some kind of bad stuff.
I love nature,animals and want everyone to feel good and to stop being egocentric. Many people who likes this style seems to be the same,of course then there is some people who might not be like that and think that it is good to be what we call evil .
To be evil is to be egocentric.To be what we call good is to feel connected with everyone else
and care about others.The devil is a symbol for the ego and god is a symbol for the connection of all life and everyone caring about each other.
Some would probably think that the feeling of strong hate is evil,but then again it`s about why it`s there and how you use it.If you hate something that is bad and wrong say for example the destruction of nature,the cruelty in the meat industry and so on then the hate is good ,just as it is good if you feel hate if someone attacks you or your family ,children or friends. Then you can transform the hate into something good. We hate when we see something that is wrong,thats why we can feel that emotion,to help ourselfes or others when things are not as they should be.
Our planet is in great danger and so are all the different lifeforms.There is extreme unbelievable suffering in the planet among the animals and in the meatindustries which are everywhere and is huge. This is a really critical moment for the future of all life on this place
We hate what destroys what we love.
I view dark psy a bit as a fire,the fire is not bad in itself,it`s all about how you use it.There is like a raw powerfull force in much twilight music and the force is not bad in itself it`s about how you use it.Think of a sword ,a sword can be used in unfair and bad situations but it can also help others,defend others and slay monsters. You get the point
This music style can set you in a deep trance state and let you explore yourself and your subconscious parts. It can really change your perception and opens up many doors inside you.
This music is like a part of a bigger wheel(the psytrance wheel),there are different parts (goa,full on etc) and they are all combined togheter and are supposed to be mixed to cover the whole spectrum and explore as much as possible inside the listener.It`s different cogs of the same wheel,just like all of your layers of your "I".
I recomend some stuff here:
Twilight,night psy:(a bit slower bpm then the fastest stuff and with more melodies) :Abomination, Shift , Phatmatix, Digital talk,Menog, Phyx, Rabdom L,Hydraglyph, Tryambaka, Akros, Khopat,Sidharta,Zion linquist, Tryon ,Killer buds ,Kluster ,Outer signal

you guys ever hear speedcore/terrorcore??
that shit is whack and can not be danced to unless youre seriously rushing. on coffee, of course.

I have a friend who is into this stuff... Even when he decides to play "psytrance" it is the most chaotic stuff i have ever heard.. You can dance to it you just slow yourself wayyyyyyyy down...

i love that forcing our bodies into uncomfortable rythyms in dance forces us into new thought patterns... change the format change yourself. there is a reason it feels so weird to dance like that and its because we are all used to religously worshipping the 130-155 bpm range or whatever so when we find ourselves dancing 90bpm cut time to 180 bpm music its awkaward but then again so was all dancing at first til we figured out how to interconnect our brains random firing of thought to our bodies ability to move. dancing in a trancendental state is like being the wiggling pencil thing on an eeg machine your dance is a visual representation of your brain activity... not that more = better

the malfunctioning robot and laying on the ground kicking your feet constitutes as dancing in my book. you *CAN SO* dance at that bpm.
