watsup everybody...just started listening to ambient and chillout music and love it
is there any such thing as dark ambient or dark chillout....
like dark samples and pyschedelic sounds with low tempo beats...am very interested in this
or any gregoarian chants haha "devil chanting" with electronic beats and shit
plz hit me back wtih info on any artists or compilations or anything
much appreciated thnxs

Try Phutureprimitive - 'Subconcious' CD on Waveform records. This is pretty dark ambient - and my top album of 2004!
Some Aes Dana is pretty dark, psychedelic ambient from Ultimae records..
I'll put my thinking cap on...

MY RECOMENDETIONS:
-Dark Sanctuary ...they released their doubt album in 2004... Amazing voice and atmosphere!
The album full name: les mémoires blessées (wounded love records 2004).
-Elend ...my favorite album by them is Les Tenebres du Dehors (96')... it is very DARK!!!

btw. Check out "MARGHERITA", yes the one i'm quoting. And "Juno Reactor - Lu.ci-ana" (don't get darker then this)

Haldolium made an album called H2 a few years back, the ambient side was pretty dark and pretty good.
Also Schlabberduerst 6 is pretty wacko/scarey, enjoyed this one for its fresh take on psy ambient...
And Essential trip, very moody in places...
Also a big shout for Downhill, some tracks really do it in a big way!!! |

Indeed, Electric Earth in example, on Electronom, remixed on the Youth In Dub 2, is something big.
Blowfish's chilled stuff on the Puffed Up album is kinda dark too in my opinion..
Another thing, but not the whole album (which is stunning, btw..) : Travelling Without Moving by Blake C, on Konvex/Konkav..
Rare nowadays.. Big thanks to Anak for giving me the chance of getting an original copy..
