There's nothing quite like that feeling, when you're meandering you're way through the party and suddenly find yourself in the chill space, sorrounded by smiling, grooving people, all swaying and moving to the chilled beats of the dj... Everyone know's what I'm talking about!! I think there is something quite Magical about this experience, it seems somehow special, sacred somehow. It's lovely to just sit and chat in the chill-out, but to dance is something else..! I remember the days when I would only dance on the main floor, but there would be times that the vibe in the chill=out was so good, that you just had to stay!!

Please share your feelings about this, you know we all love to chill !!            - - It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice... - -

Mmm...sitting down for a moment of rest, starting to sway to the familiar sounds of music I listen to privately, hearing it on a BIG sound system...then finding that perfect moment of groove when the sounds tickle the senses and you just HAVE to get up and move around. Ahh yeah, those are moments of bliss!

I remember one time at Baraka it was about 10 minutes before I started my set at 2am in the chillout room. It was all peaceful and everyone was sat around relaxing.
i went outside for some fresh air and to think about my set to help these people relax. While I was out there, the sound system in the main room fused and when I came back in the chillout room was full of people who just wanted to dance. So I quickly reassessed the set I was going to play and did my best to keep it dancey but with a low bpm (90-120). Since then I am always on the lookout for more of this type of music (new Waterjuice album is a treat).

Although I like beatless ambient music, its really trance that I love. Somehow I find downbeat trance can be soooooo psychedelic in a way that combines the psychedelia of full-on with the warmth of progressive to create a alternative dancefloor that allows for complete freestyle dancing (I know you can dance however you want on the main floor, but most people fall into a few styles) or just allows you to sit back and let your mind drift
