Chord is a combination of two or more notes ,wich are played together , at the same time ,that are part of a scale.
Usually if you ´r using a major scale you can make a chord with the first, the third, and the 5th note of that scale. For more info is better you check some music theory .Hope it helps

I would download a chord chart. Look into what dominant and sub dominant chords are. Learn what each one does. Each type dominant and subdominant lead the listener in a different direction that said the most common chord progression ever is. I IV V. However they'd most likely be minor in dance music. I hear a lot of 1, 4, 5 with the 5 being a major 5. Using a major 5 chord gives a leading tone to resolve back to the root of the song. If all this is gobbly gook to you then yes read up on theory from start to finish. I have a set of tutorials on music theory on the youtube in my signature. If you are interested it puts music theory into laymans terms and gives a visual of what each chord is like and explains what these terms are.

Thanks guys. I know how to make a chord, its 2 or more notes played together. I was actually talking about the sound, like for example what type of wave are they using or if I have to add a fx like a flanger or something.Or maybe theres a vst that can make dose fat noises, or maybe a tip on how to make you chord sound alot fatter. no talking about music theory more of a twiking or engineer thing.
But thanks anny ways for taking the time.... |

i use discovery a lot (nord lead emu) to make chord stabs its got a really strong raspy sound. I add filters to it or if i sustain it it has a built in gate to make a gated pad type sound. I also use the fruity 3xosc. amongst other vsts surge theres a few others. usually made with sawtooth waves, sometimes square waves. when making a stab i add a long tail reverb so that it rings out for a while.

i'm guessing that word means something else in a different language.
also another note about the osc pitch lfo if you add some nice spacious reverb on a send channel and possibly put a cutoff lfo on it so it drones in and out that'd add to it significantly.
