I just wonder :
DO you prepare the tunes you are about to play in advanced (i mean which one you are about to play exactly and when) or you just know what tunes you like and how they sound more or less and then you put them according to the party and set flow?

if you pick all the tracks in order b4 you play, you are basically telling the crowd what to listen to. You are not conncting with the crowd, responding to what turns them on/off, and when they are peaking. I like to be one with the dancers, when I feel their energy rising I jack it up a notch too. I think flexibility and playing what you feel like at that very moment is very important. If you select all the tracks before, you might as well just make a mix cd and play it out for your set.
But Toxical is also right- ther is no right or wrong in DJing, only what you like. Just try to develop your own sense of what a DJ is, and what he/she is supposed to do. Your concept of what trance music is and how it should be played is what separates you from all the other DJs. Be original!
