I have finally had the time to give this one a listen so here comes the review. Cycle Sphere is Udi Bitton from Israel and has had a couple of tracks released on various comps.
1. Wild Style
Some chopped up effects transition into to a straight forward bassline. The power begins very quickly with an impressive buildup. At around the 2 minute mark a "vocalized" sound reminds me of IM, and we are back to the bassline. The haunting reverberating melody arrives and has me looking carefully around corners. Like a predator it takes its time, slowly circling, toying with my ears. The IM sound takes center stage with the hi-hats and choppy percussion. I like it, pretty good track to start us off. 7/10
2. Hallucinogenic Vision
Twisted 303? Gives way to a snaking bassline and an ominous synth melody that dance around my subconscious. I can almost taste that old school vibe! Soft pads give us a fleeting view of daylight which is then crushed by another grooving melody! :groove: Powerful track! 7.5/10
3. Call It What You Want
Title track so this should be a stormer. A dirty swirling bassline and plenty of percussion. The samples sound a little bizarre for my tastes ("Do you like it hard...?"). But the music is good and driving. At the 6'15" mark a spooky melody appears and the track turns directions. Not bad, but a pretty average track. 6/10
4. Dream is Destiny
I hear someone sloshing around and opening creaky doors. We are presented with a theory on existentialism which melds into a hopping bassline. Lasers, we have lasers! I like the staccato percussion sounds, keeps it interesting to my ears. The track evolves into a driving mass of angry bass and swirling leads. The cool thing about this track, is that ias soon as you are used to one bassline and lead, it switches up and presents you with another one. Very inventive as the all mesh together very well. Good track! 7/10
5. The Mask
Nice "hopeless" melody to carry us onward, and I mean that in a good way. The bassline seems as I have heard it before, and I feel there is not much imagination in this track. It just plods along and doesn't give me shot I need. 5/10
6. Brain Candy
Very spacelike to start with a bubbling bass and a weaving lead. I like the bass, it is digging as if to escape its prison, and then the hi-hats greet us. The lead carries the tune, above the violence. The ethereal melody really is candy for the brain as we build back up. :great: I felt the end could've been stronger but a nice track overall. 7/10
7. What's Your Trip?
Heavy distorted kick with spacey noises gives way to more percussive noises. The lead takes center stage. It is metallic sounding and it brings us to more squishy bass. Nice track but nothing spectacular 6/10
8. Narcotics Shit
Nice, mellow beginning that is torn asunder by that angry 303 sound. It pushes to the front and dominates. Again, very good percussive effects, but not a whole lot else. The bassline isn't very imaginative, but I like the breakdown around the 4 and a half minute mark. However we are right back with that 303 sound. That passes and a new lead enters the fray. Not too bad. 6/10
9. The Final Boom
Smooth acoustic guitar melody surrounded by spacelike effects. This creates a pleasing mood. The bassline kicks in and we are rocking That really sweet meldy returns and is very well done. The bassline dances nimbly through the track as an evolving lead directs us ever highger. This was a very good track that had it's share of emotion and power. My favorite of the album. I do hope they were taking the piss with the Pink Panther theme in there. 8/10
conclusion:
Well, what can one say about this debut? I thought it was pretty good with some pretty unique ideas. The only problem was that it was very repetetive. It seemed like every track had the same type of structure and after awhile, it all sounded the same. I think it is a good start, and could've been helped by some varying sounds. I have heard a lot worse than this. Having said that, you can tell Udi has the gift of rhythm. I look forward to more tracks from this artist. 6.5/10

i dint expect this one to be as good as it was...
true sometimes you get the feeling that one layer is into all the tracks but somehow this style reminds me of eskimo and eskimo does that often so prolly this dude also tried it out..
but on the whole its pretty power packed...nice uplifts and crashs...
hehe the pink panteher tune was hillarious...i remember this one time we were sitting on a dune (desert) with clear mountains in front of us and accompanied by the cycle man ....and this track ripped us apart .....heheh continuse smilling for a long long time hahah...that was a good night...
but the track is quite a good one tho..most of them are..
u been slightly strict on the album i reckon 7.5-8/10 |

I don't agree with you. Track 3 is the best by far. The building up towards the break and then that acidline at 5:00 and onwards, until it breaks again and then lifts off with that simple, yet effective melody is just freakin' awesome. Great stuff. Nice album overall, but track 3 takes the cake.
"Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."
