I see that trick long time ago, but for me, this don´t make any sense...why cut ? to remove subnoise? rumble? fix it at the source...

imo these frequencies 25~80/100 Hz are the frequencies that shake the brain and the body...is the top bud!

some of these theories are legends for me...

+1 imo cut wherever it sounds good to you. i use to start around 30hz IF I DO (sometimes even below)!!! usually u should work on the source....           FUCK GENRES, LOVE MUSIC!!!!

try make the sound in a way that u dont have to worry on that. mind that the music will be played in all kind of soundsystems, some of them dont play low end at all.

I usually take from 30 hrz down. Dose frequencies the human ear cannot hear so it just makes you mix dirtyer.

i don't think it's any sort of rule of thumb but many choose o practice this - very subjective to the type of sound and the entire composition that is presented.

however, i think the idea is to not to eliminate it but to control it .... using multiband compression and eq have been most recommended to me.

good luck!

Can people still feel them on a large enough system though?

the truth is that at large pa's the subs are boosted, so u dont need to worry about it.
U just need to be shure that the subs are not taking too much headroom froum you           Purple Haze all in my brain/lately things don't seem the same/ Actin' funny but I don't know why/ 'Scuse me while I kiss the sky
