i gues u dont mean that, as long as u cut the wave in exactly the right place it should be alright. |

but i don't see how this would damage speakers; even if the samples were cut in the wrong place
i mean some people actually write music with these clicks |

it's worth a try: in very short time i got out of an almost crappy synth kick a very punchy kick
experiment different the cut points to get the click u prefer, u can also edit the sample (after u bounce it) with sample editor: i've cut when the wave is flat (=no click) then added amplitude with pen

i mess about with the amplitude on the kick, give it a dip in the wave after 10-20ms and then back up to full amplitude after that. it defo helps. |

even if you like the sound of the kick, i don't think it would sound good with a bass, or anything at all, since it's out of phase.
anyway i've seen gms pulling out a click wind up in a live act which for me was the best windup ever. it started with a single click and for a second you think the PA has just collapsed. but then it repeats increasing in frequency till it's really fast and then the tracks booms... amazing idea and production. but yeah didn't looked really healthy for the speakers lol

Is sometimes cut and leave the click for the nice effect
But only in my freestyle dub project (wake walker)
Then its nice to have glitchy sounds with some clicks
I would not suggest it for psytrance, just find good samples

i'm with faxinadu on this 1.the offset your talking about hearing is when the speaker skips a certain point when it goes back and then forward again.its starts from a different point.thats why it important to cut it in the correct place.thats why in the infected mushroom tutorial its doesn't say to cut the end half way does it? no, where the wave meets when its on its way back down. |

To my knowledge slicing anywhere but at a zero crossing creates some nasty clips. Perhaps if used very slightly it could be a decent technique. I will have to try it to see. I have not really heard a kick that doesn't sound fine with just pitch down modulation though. Is this what you are talking about? Slicing slightly after the first zero crossing? |
