Cubase has run fine on my computer for about a year without any trouble, but just yesterday and a bit of today it started to give me problems.
What happens is that very frequently when I am in the midi note editor, it will freeze when I try and drag the noted from one key to another.
The note its on will keep ringing forever and the program stops responding. In the windows task manager it says its reading 600,000k when its usually at 30,000k. I usually have to manually power down the computer.
CPU Specs:
1.5gb Ram
2ghz processor
Soundblaster Audio
Geforce 6200 graphics
suggestions?

It freezes no matter what VSTi I'm using.
I'll see if updating the soundcard drivers will help, I don't think it will because it wasn't doing this in the past.
As for reinstalling cubase...I will wait a few days to see if anyone comes up with anything less painful.
Thanks for the reply though!

maybe it solves itself in few days and if not reinstall.. This is normal if u are using a dongle.. Same thing happend to me..
Anyways is someone using SX 3 in windows xp 64 pro?
With h2O driver? I have problems with installation, it works fine on xp 32 but on 64 I just cant install dongle driver.. And I would really like to use win 64..
And if someone used both pro tools and cubase contact me cause I have one simple question..

Ok, I think I have fixed my problem.
- Updated Cubase with this link: ftp://ftp.steinberg.net/Download/Cubase_SX_3/3.1.1.944/PC/
-Then I reset all the preference setting in the program.
I started a new project and checked to see if I could moved the midi notes without it freezing up and it seems to work.
Thanks to all who replied
