So, using SX3 like so many others, ive decided to opgrade to cubase4 maybe 5. I then i tryed AcidPro7 and i was actually suprised that it actually was pretty easy/quick to get some ideas down, dont know much about it though, but now im thinking should i get one or another?? Is there anybody here who has experience with this Pro6 or 7? Anybody changed to it? Your expertice would be apreciated |

I haven't used Acid in a couple years (maybe version 5), but my experience with it is that it's like a lighter version of Cubase. There aren't really any noteworthy features missing, and it's a bit cheaper too. I haven't used Reaper, but it seems very similar to Acid, so I would suggest checking that out as well..maybe you can save yourself $250..

Yeah, sure. If I don't have a user, then who wrote me? |

hey Kane. No, dont think so either, some minor differences and ofcause the looks. The audio editing part in cubase is much better. ACid needs a progam like soundforge or audacity for editing, thats a minus. Tried Reaper......Its actually ok, but yeah i dont know, iits not me. WHen it comes to the money part, ive saved enough so can afford cubase used. Same price for acidpro new:)
But thanks for the input Kane. Seems to me not many are using acid... |

Yeah I agree about the audio editing..I was just saying that on a basic level, they're very similar. The groove stuff in Acid isn't too great, and Cubase seems to have a better sq as a whole too. I would definitely prefer Cubase in your situation, and I would be hesitant to spend a bunch on Acid.
But I think you're answering your own question here.
