They basically do the same thing with some diferent buttons/shortcuts, but the outcome is the same.
There are plenty of discussions in this forum about this comparison, if you use the search om sure you´ll find a lot of info on that...
As with all the other programs most Cubase users will tell you Cubase rocks much more and Logic users will defend the opposite...I have used Logic for abouts 3 yrs and moved to cubase about 1yr ago and I can´t still find wich one I prefer, they both do quite the same, one is more practical in some ways, the other in others, so it really depends on how you work...and its just tiny details...
Its really just a matter of wich one you feel more confortable working in...wich will depend from ppl to ppl depending on their experience imo....
Also, Logic is not made for PC anymore with last version being logic 5, so if you have a pc it might be wiser to go for cubase...

The main difference is Logic´s enviroment wich is a really powerful tool, it allows a lot of internal configuration and the instruments and fx in logic are awesome unlike Cubase stuff, but besides that both programs do the same, the same goes with Sonar and Digital Performer.
They are nothing more than audio/midi sequencers. |

I did opossite to FluoSamsara, i used Cubase for 3 years and now my main sequencer is Logic (PC) but when i find soemthing i cannot do in Logic i go to Cubase, do it and render it and lod it in Logic.
I like both too much so i use both. |

Are you on PC or Mac? Logic for PC is stagnant and won't be upgraded. If you like it as it is now in version 5, then fine but if you want new features like track freeze and stuff like that, forget about Logic. Instead look at Cubase or Sonar.
For Mac, logic seems like a good idea but in the end it doesn't really matter. All the modern DAWs are good to make music. Just try them out and see what you like. Oh wait, there are no demos for new versions of Cubase ... So Logic on a Mac and Sonar on a PC.

Apparently Logic (express) running on OSX86 is sorted with no problems whatsoever! Let's see if Logic Pro gets the PC treatment *fingers crossed*

if you're mixing in the box, then Logic offers far greater internal audio routing (busses and aux tracks). this is the main limitation in Cubase, lack of flexible routing (the Cubase groups are good but lack of true multiple busses and aux tracks is a shame).
having said that, cubase is less complicated, easier to use and more intuitive with regard to midi programming and audio editing, IMO.

It's almost sure that Logic Pro UB will run on the OSX86 latest betas which runs on a PC.

cubase sx 3.1 on an athlon64 xp2800+, windows sp2 - not a single problem. some synths crash occasionally (very rarely), but cubase does not. i use cubase since sx1.0 came out, and have nothing but words of praise for it.
