i installed the live ableton 8.4 and the problem disappears, and the program will become unstable just close the program like if there is a problem!

and i dont wanna use cubase because i am more familiar with live ableton,and seems to be like i have to start once again.

any help could be fine

Hi where is your question? Got a bit lost in your description.I think a multitracker sequencer will stay just sequencer.
Use whatever you like what works for you best or use all.
The one I don't like that much is protools it is different than the others to me at this time but cubase,logic,reaper,ableton are very similar,all are powerful and at some point equal IMO.

You can change the buffer size in your setup. That should take care of the stuttering sound.

I am guessing you meant versions 8.0.4 and 8.0.9. Apparently, Ableton fixed plenty of bugs since then. Some free packs you may find (including those at Ableton’s site) will not even load in anything below 8.1. So, the first order of business may be to upgrade to the latest release.

Ableton is at version 8.1.5 now. Pirates are at 8.1.4.

the difference is workflow. i hate cubase taking forever. but it is basically if you want the offline wav processing power cubase posses be sure to have soundforge or some other application available that allows you to do what cubase offline processing does. that is the dilemma i struggle with currently. however soundforge is accessible by one click and once file is saved its auto changed in ableton.           http://www.youtube.com/user/trawhi (tutorials)

dija@ you're right, talking about the easy way to edit the waves files in live ableton that cubase doesn't make that like live ableton's way, the easiest way to make the more powerfull solutions,

maine coon@ i set up the buffer size and seems to be like the problem comes with unstable program. 8.9 and 8.11 the 8.9 sounds cuts its self and gets scratching, isntall the 8.4 and pass the same. 8.1.1 and the sme thing does..

time traveller@ seems to be like iam going to use the both of those live and ableton in conecttion via rewire!

yeah i would use rewire ableton or fl studio into cubase but it wont let you record the incoming rewire channels as audio. if anybody knows how to do this please let me know. as of now i use ableton and an external editor soundforge 7. as i've gotten deeper into music i see that offline processing working with .wav files is very important as opposed to leaving it all in midi data. with live processing.          http://www.youtube.com/user/trawhi (tutorials)

Ahh, I totally missed that during my vacation. Im still at 8.1.4. But strange...normally I get a mail when new updates are released.

@vision dream:
You still speak of versions 8.9 and 8.11. I think you mess soemthing up there.
If you mean 8.0.9 and 8.1.1 your version is way outdated.
You got the original or pirated?

I forgot to tell you: I had the same problem with 8.1.4. It was more like seconds of silence during the playback, rather than that low-buffer stuttering sound. Drove me crazy (especially since I hadn’t had this problem with 8.0.4). Then I noticed a little orange light with “D” in it in the upper right corner of the window. So, this means the HD activity prevents Ableton from loading your audio on time. It was very strange, since there was no HD activity I could notice by looking at the comp itself. But anyway, there are three ways to deal with this problem:
- File a bug report with Ableton (may not be a smart option in some cases );
- Increase playback buffer to ridiculous numbers;
- Click the “RAM” button in your audio clip, so that Live loads the whole clip into memory at once instead of reading it on the fly.

I opted for the “RAM” solution and it works just fine – even though I have only 1 G of physical RAM on my machine.

Good luck.

P.S. About that program stability. I am guessing your copy did not come directly from Ableton. My little online research showed that “team AiR editions” are the most reliable. I did not do the actual testing but there are plenty of people out there who did, and they say other “providers” don’t even come close to AiR. That could be another reason for your problems, I guess.
