New to the forum & can't find this topic - so asking >
what are anyones' opinions on this subject ?
I'm currently using Cubase 4 on a PowerBook G4 - 1.67 ghz
seems Cubase has many problems ?
was a emagic user in the days when they were still with PC - gutted when they stopped !!!!
but now have switched to MAC -
curious to know what you think ?

Haven't seen or used cubase 4 on the mac, but logic 8 seems pretty solid.

if you re already used to logic, I'll defenately advice you to go for it!
its really cheap and stable, and you also get a lot of other stuff with it

I used to be a logic user, but my mac wasnt powerfull enough so i switched to cubase
Then since logic 8 i switched back and never looking back!
Its ssoooooo worth it

Logic is great.
It has a bit of a steep learning curve but if you're an old Logic user, you'll probably be out and about in no time
Also, it comes with so many great plugins that you can probably start your project and finish it without resorting for external VST/AU plugins
* the only thing that bugs me a little with Logic is the less than brilliant audio handling capabilities. you can't edit and process single audio regions in an undestructive way (e.g no offline processing).
Other than this (relatively minor issue), Logic gets big thumbs up from me, already got 2 friends converted from Cubase in the last 6 months
  YEEEEES! |

One thing that is really bugging me with cubase compared to logic or other sequencers..is the asio driver..i have to work on way higher buffersizes in cubase then in logic on my mac..don?t know why but the development of the interface drivers for cubase,by echo, for example is not that proffesional than how it works in logic..maybe i should try to play around with latency compensation..haven`t tried it yet..
well..logic got more plugins and they are good for sure..cubase is more expensive and got nice plugins as well..but not that much..
and both sequencers got their little benefits compared to the other..it was alway like that one sequencer is a little better..then the other one again..it often differs from update to update i would say..
personaly i prefer the GUI of cubase..way bigger arrangement view and i don`t like the mixer in Logic compared to cubase..i even prefer the inspector compared to that logic kind of thing..but thats matter of taste..

thats the first time I have heard that..
while Cubase's inspector is pretty cool with all of the options and sliders, once you collapse the extra panes in Logic the arrange window is huge (command+i, o p).
actually I tried Cubase for awhile becuase it seemed like 'everyone was using it', but couldn't do it because of the arrange window, mixer (flexible architecture) and I guess I was just used to the other stuff
but you are right it is a matter of taste, and what you are used to I guess..
still some problems with Logic, but I think it is on the right track
Gamma Riders EP out now on iTunes and Amazon.com!
