Hi there
I did a nice little psytrance song and used only freeware plugins, so that everybody who has cubase SX3 and windows can watch how I did it.
It's not actually my style. I just tried to go in direction "FullOn" as much as I could without loosing myself.
It will be a big help for beginners for sure. But advanced may like to do a remix and I believe some tricks anybody can learn from anybody anyway or so..

P.S. I dont have Cubase sx but no problem i have some good structures in Logic and in my mind, i think your start track help a lot of people to understand the main logic structure of a good psy track.

Hi there
Thank you for your feedbacks, here, on my website, PM, email. Thank you very much.
I have worked a bit more with the song and put an improved v2 online. Same place www.subconsciousmind.ch then workshops and so on.
The first break now really works, the overall mix is better, the two main parts are not so messy anymore.
Beside that, the bass EQ was completely wrong adjusted, there was one band switched on, which was only for testing and made the bass sound like shit.
Check it out, maybe also interesting in point of view of the process of "perfectionizing"

it lookes so promising but when i open the cpr, after following ur instructions, i get a total freeze in my sx3, version 3.1.1.
with widebug i have a problem: error opening file ..system32/msvcr71.dll maybe this is the problem. i ignored it so it could continue.
while loading in cubase, the problem starts when channel mixdown is happening. after that i needd a hard reset.
any hints for me to get this project going?
anyhow subconsciousmind thanx for the nice work u did! |

Hi
The widebug think is no problem. I have the same.
For the other thing....
One thing you could try is to load the synths shiver, triangle, claw, before you load the project... they will be replaced, but anyway, sometimes this helps..
What computer do you have?

did what u suggested, no difference, freeze
using a labtop vaio p4 2,8 GHz.
could it be a cpu issue while loading?

That's really shit. I've no idea how to fix this.
It could be one of the plugins causing the error, once determined which one, you could uninstall that one.
Not a CPU issue, but a ram issue.
I tried on two PCs.
one pretty fast with 2GB ram. and a centrino 2.13ghz with 1GB ram.
both worked.
But anyway, at least you can listen to the song. Just open the audio folder inside the project folder, an listen to the biggest wave file in it.
