hey

I have decided to try and ditch battery 2's interface and see what happens, but have been having trouble placing kicks where i would like them. It will only let me place along a certain interval, which is too spaced out. How do you make it so there are more devisions where you can place it.... please help I do not know what topic to look for in the manual or Cubasepower! book

Probably not a great idea... you're going to want to have envelopes on your kicks.

But if you really want to do it that way, change your quantize length to 32 and in the upper right, instead of snapping to "Bar" or "beat" it should snap to that quanitze length.           http://soundcloud.com/aeon604

Set it to 1/16 nad u should have no problem if u want more flexibility on the bar/beat set it to (use quantize) but with 4/4 on and 1/16 sohould be ok, i tell you because i dont use samplers for my drums, i lay them on audio tracks, takes a little bit of work at first bust as soon as u get used to it's easy and better at least for me.

Aeon is there no way to create envelope using plugins here?

Seems to me ysing just audio track perhaps more flexible and memory efficient than going from midi controller to Battery and back to audio again...
(I have not even used plugins yet.... take it easy on me guys ;-)

Fair enough. Yeah, I actually just drop in my reverse kicks as audio for similar reasons... it's easier to place them etc...

I suppose you could enevelope the kick with an audio editor, but then it's permanent and you'd have to manuall re-do it later if you changed something.

apparently there is offline edit where it has a copy of the original file of the kick so if you want to change back it is avalible. Even more so, I read that there is an entire history of changes to the file which you can change back

correct me if i am wrong...

btw are there any plugins that you could use for envelope generation so that it does the changes automatically or am I confusing it and the changes with all plugins actually change the audio file?

In Logic it's possible to put an Enveloper on a specific audiotrack - isn't something like that possible in Cubase too?
You are beautiful, no matter what they say!
