Maybe we can share some tips and tricks to speedup the workflow within Cubase SX.

So would anyone know how to work around this?

If in my project I have all my tracks and stuff written out right from bar # 1 and I would want to write a intro for example before that.
Is there any fast way to just move up all my tracks without selecting the whole bunch and pulling 'm to the right?

Btw, I have foun some tips which might be usefull, although some might be a little outdated;

What's so hard about doing that?

Right click and select "Show used automation for all tracks", Hit Ctrl-A for "Select All", click anywhere and drag everything, including automation, to the right.

Biggest workflow speed-up... use key commands. Constant mouse clicking and browsing through menus eats up all kinds of time.

Either look through they key command list and learn what the stock ones are, or, better yet, assign your own custom ones for the things you use alot, it's easy to do. Works for EVERYTHING, including offline VSTs, not just Cubase commands.

"R" for "reverse", "N" for "Normalize", or instead how about "N" for... bringing up the PSP Nitro offline process on the selected audio clip. Or whatever you want.

Customizing key commands has been my biggest boost. I was inspired to do more of that years ago by watching Joti Sidhu write a track on his custom-keyed setup... he never touched the mouse. It looked like he was typing an essay.

Hey Djones, here's another way of doing it. Put the locators either side of the space you want to insert (ie. on bars 1 and 9) and go to the Edit -> Range menu - I think the option is called "Insert Time". You can use to insert a blank space anywhere in the track.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

a cool tip i like to use is opening the midi editor window and changing the default view (sorts by velocity) to be viewed as pitch.
i zoom in rather closely anyway - and now i can see both letters on the blocks of midi and each block is in different color according to its position on the scale.
velocity is viewd on the controller lane anyway, so its irrelevant to be viewed twice.
this helps many as now there is a direct association between color and pitch in our brain. makes it a whole lot easier to write in scales and such (at least at first).
