helo dudes,....i have a few probs re. SX...
firstly, is it posible to have your transport bar showing "time",ie mins and secs. and bar no's
in the arrange window??,.>> like if you set bars in the arrange window the arrange window shows bars, and if you set "time"(in the transport bar) then the arrangement shows
mins and seconds,...?? please advise
is there some setting in prefs that i'm missing?
i'm lost ,,, any help would be brilliant!
thanks

sorry, that was gibberish.
what i was trying to say was,
can you have the transport and the arrange-window showing differrent info, like in the old cubase, where you could have the arrangement marked off in bars, and the
time counter in the transport showing mins and secs,.... er yeah,... |

yeah, i was also looking,...
but now i realize somthing more important to me, check it out.>
in the old cubase you can set an independant loop in the audio or midi editer, so that on playback (as long as the editer is open)
it loops whatever you got set in the editer,
INDEPENDANTLY of what your arrangment
is looping,or even if its looping at all,
this function seems to be missing in the editers,.cuz whatever loop you set, is applied to the arrangement,- not what i want,..
is there anyone who can help me??

pierre just cleared this up,...thanks dude;-)
Anyway, you can right click the ruler (the marking along the top of the project window) to choose time units and then you can choose quite separate units from the transport panel itself by clicking the little down arrow next to the main time display.
Only problem - if you select clock time for the transport then your locators are calibrated to clock time, even though the ruler may be calibrated in beats. So you have to click the little arrow on the transport again and change the transport's units to bars & beats. And then change back to time. Also, be advised that if you change tempo while the transport is reading clock time, any loop you have set up will move to wherever the new time reading (at the different tempo) places the locators...
I've reported this on cubase.net.
Hope this helps

Quote of the week :
"I know more than 30 bugs in the current SX version. steinberg knows them too, but instead of releasing a bugfix, they start selling the mac version.
if sx would be a car instead of a software product, steinberg would already be insolvent and the managers would sing the jailhouse rock - together with bill gates..."

heres some more light on my first prob.
again thanks to bent sentient.
got a reply posting on cubase.net that you might find useful:
"If you want to keep BAR/Beat measurements for the locators, then leave the timeline and transport views set to bars/ beats.
In the devices menu go to setup devices and the ADD/Remove tab. Add a time display device. Press add in the right hand side, the close the window. In the devices menu select time display. Size that and select any time format required. You can add multiple time displays and have one showing each of the formats you want, all at once.
Now there will be no need to change the display format of the transport, unless you decide that you want to use a time-based set of locators on the project, even temporarily."
