Hi everyone - I'm having an audio problem with SX, can anyone help me?

I want to set up a compressor on a bass track so that it gets "ducked" by the kickdrum? I know how to do it on a real compressor, so..

How do you tell the "send" signal from one track (the kick) where to go? I'm guessing it needs to go into a sidechain on the bass track's compressor but I can't see how to do it. Thanks! PB           always with the monkeys..

the big problem in cubase:
no key input.
sad but true. btw why you want to duck the base when the kick is going??           "move your body! if you don't have one, GET ONE!"

In Logic on the other way,
which is why I never will move to cubase if they don't come up with it allready,
u can set up a side chain on the compressor which will do the ducking from any channel.

to ozen, ducking is one of the best way's to mix compressed channels - like kick + bass = it will allways sound good without clipping no matter what when using ducking effect. (small secrets from the studio )          Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

from what i knowen ducking is:
two source: one in the chain signel the other in
the key input and every time that the key input is been send its shot down the first source.
now,why should i do it with the base and kick, else you are talking about comperss the first source when the second is sended.
but thank you philip for the tip anyway, never tryed it before

Yeh, I know what ducking is, (btw Otzen, it's so that you can have the bassline go a bit quiter every time the kick plays to keep them out of the way of each other).. but I just can't figure out how to do it on SX. Don't think there's any need for a "key input"; I ought to be able to route a "send" from the kick channel into a compressor doing the bass channel. I've seen my buddy do it in Orion.
So.. Does anyone know which menu to go to or which button to press?

Ta!           always with the monkeys..
