Hey Guys...I tried to find an ansewer to my problem through the search but i coulndt find anything.
Well the problem is this...during the compostion of a track i almost dont have any problems of cpu overcharge because i have a reasonably good pc...but when the track is finished and im working on small details such as eq and stuff...my cpu start to overcharge..going from 50/60% to 100% out of nowhere for no specific reason and when that happens i have to restart the pc ,or every time i press play the cpu goes balistic again...i've tried everything...restarting the asio drivers ( u must say i have a delta 10 10 lt soundcard), restart cubase...
Im going nuts please help....and thanks in advance

do you have a P4? if so it could be the denormalization problem, some plugs during silence goes balistic and the cpu goes crazy... though there is a plug that can solve it, right now i cant remember the name and im too tired to check, but somebody here at isra recommended it so if you do a search you might find it...

anyway, do yo have lots of plugs going at the same time?

anyway i found the plug...

yes... so if you got a P4 i think you got the answer...
if these plugins "idle" then they create spikes...

dont you understand?

read what i said again... and maybe list the plugins you use, even instruments....

that is if you want somebody to be able to help you

So did you have a P4 or not, to start with

try to change the cubase process priority to high ...or change your soundcard latency to a higher level...

i think that will help.....

askari - i didnt mean to sound arrogant

it seems this plugin has no reemedy for VST instruments, only Vst plugins.
you put this plug in the first slot and then the plugin that causes denormalisation in slot 2...

also do like STATIK said...

askari - thats alot of VSt instruments...
but you said they are all turned off...
do you work with audio and have all the vsti turned off?

it can be alot of things...
which version of cubase SX?

i dont have much of a clue, i mean you could take away one plugin at a time... and maybe you can find which one is causing this..
if you have everything turned off then its strange that this happens...

can you remember when it started?

try and change the buffer size(latency) to 1024

how many processes do you have in the task manager? you shouldnt have more then 30, and even that is alot i think.

try and save project to new folder and see if things get sorted...

also maybe try to reste settings to default in preferences.

do you have a savefile that is older and works?
if so check the plugs you have and if its something thats not there but in the latest savefile,
it might be what causing the problem..

try to change some settings in the detla 1010 and see what happens...

somebody might be able to help you, but you better start checking for various explainations...

though im pretty sure its plugin related cause you dont say that you experience this before...?

maybe the combination of plugs makes the error...

good luck... maybe somebody will come with more ideas..
