we all know that in cubase SX we can do automation too ....
i have cubase SX 3 and i have a shity situation .... for MIDI FILES!
when i want to automade wave files works fine [im refering to automate an FX parameters / not those volume , panning default crapy thing ]
so i press read and write automation and i move the desired knob with the effect i want ... i bring the automation panel and select insert 1 [and the name of the effect i used]
BUT for MIDI files i do the same process [ i enable read / write automation , and spin the desired knob with the FX that i wanna automate ] AND i cant find the automated graph NOWHERE! so i can edit it with the pencil tool | because while recording LIVE automation i usualy cant sync the automation to my desire and want to make some editing to it after .......
this is a shity problem i had for over 1 year pls help me! |

What do you mean by "midi file"? Midi track maybe? And what are you automating? Midi track settings or VST it is controlling? Or CC (continous controller). Are you controlling hardware or software? They are different thing when it comes to controlling the knobs.
If you want to make CC envelopes, just open a midi event and choose the CC from the drop down box on the left. Start drawing and voi'la!
if you control software (VSTi or audio channels), just open the VST editor for the instrument or effect, enable write and do your thing. Then stop, and choose "Show all automation" in the menu. It works for any kind of automation except midi cc.
I don't think it's a bug if you don't know how to use software... sorry |

I guess you're recording controller data to midi files. I wouldn't recommend this, instead use the automation lanes.
For this, set cubase sx3/preferences/midi/ and check "midi controller input to automation tracks"
