Running Windows 7 today which is lovely lovely, but havent tried any music software on it (yet) .....
However, if it didnt work for you on Vista, i guess you will have the same problem with wIn7 ....

1. tried sx3 on 7 and had lots of bugs, but it was a beta version of 7.
2. I think 4 is optimized for 7
3. Frod, your assumption is wrong. Win7 is different from Vista, and some say it is closer to XP then to Vista...
Anyway - I am back to XP, atleast until 7 will have SP2!

I run Cubase 5 on Windows 7 Ultimate (final build) with Virus TI and UAD2 cards, Novation SL midi controller, loads of VSTs..
no issues. not one.
7 seems like a modern Microsoft OS I can finally recommend. Thoroughly impressed.

Not really.. it's entirely new if anything., The only reason it's compared to XP is for the speed - ie snappy with a lower memory footprint.
To be honest, using any other operating system after Vista makes you question your sanity or consider the possibility that your computer has been replaced with one that fell through a timewarp from 50 years in the future. |

Damn,
Found my first Win7 bug today.
No file size in the status bar of Windows Explorer.
Have to press Ctrl+A and get properties of the folder to find sizes of things. Ridiculous oversight!
Still, Cubase works great! |
