hi there it's me again

well... new track and the automation problem presists.
this time i'm running a lead in vanguard, everything going ok fully automated as usual and then i want to do a quick 1bar break where i lower the filter to 0 (2beats) and then up again (the other 2beats)... the same problem from the other time... it does the automation something like 2 beats before where i draw it...
the crazy thing is that this only happens when exporting !
my guess is "delay compensation"... whatever that is...

the specs are (*blushing*):

Pentium III 1000mhz
384MB SDR Ram
3d Kyro Prophet 4500 MX graphic card
SoundBlaster PCI 64
Cubase SX 2.2.0 Build 33

thanks in advance hope someone knows the answer...

what are you saying? that cubase is compensating too much?
i'd say it has nothing to do with that, but that's just me

i wonder, do you have any lfo synced to the host routed to that parameter?
i barelly know vanguard, but if you have indeed a llfo synced working for that controller, i'd try to drag back the midi part and automation the 2 beats back

no it's not LFO.

more or less that but i don't know what delay compensation is... it was just a guess

i can drag the automation but that won't correct the bug... that's what i wanted to do because it happened to me before (that time while automating the TG mix)... and i don't think the two beats is exact.

I have no solution for your problem. Maybe you should get the latest vanguard. I think an old version once had such problems. I don't use it and cubase doesn't give me such problems.

But theres an useful util I can suggest:

www.silverspike.com

tapeit1 (free) or tapeit2...

or

www.voxengo.com - a tool called recorder.

both will solve your problem: have fun.

it didn't worked ! just found out it's not a Vanguard problem... it happens with all the automations ! they all happen 1-3 beats before the time they're supposed to. any ideas (except moving the automation... i have some exact changes and if i don't move it exactly it will kill some parts of the track grrrr)

just a guess
are you using aiso4all?
maybe you have a very high latency value.

it's not a shot in the dark... i'll check every possible options with asio4all... hope it works cause this track is almost finished :/

EDIT:
just tried all the devices i could... ASIO4All show's low latency but as soon as i open my project it simply freezes my PC (took me five minutes to change the device). the ASIO Multimedia driver (the one i used before) is the one that shows highest latency but the one that works well. with the Asio DirectX driver i can't listen to my stuff... too much jumps. i'll try to export with the directx driver to see if it works (it will take hours to export but oh well...)

anyway i'm more sure that i'll only get this good by exporting in another pc or after formatting this system :S

this wont solve your problem, but a temporary solution you can try:

play your track and record it in real time, using a Cubase audio track, or Wavelab/Soundforge.
