Ok dudes i have tried everywhere else and no luck so you are my last chance.

Ok basically the issue is this :

I want to reacord my vocals through NI Vokator. Sounds simple i hear u say, agh but, here is problem.

I cannot hear the vokator effect in real time, i hit record, it records my voice but i only hear the effect WHEN PLAYING BACK.

Now i know this is possible (hearing the Vokator Effect in real time) but i am obviously missing something in the routing.

I have followed the Vokator manual which says "
Create a group track.
• If you want to send two different audio tracks to the VOKATOR
(such as for vocoding), route one audio track to the left group
channel and the other to the right group channel (e.g., track 1
with the pan control hard left to group 01, track 2 with the pan
control hard right to group 01).
Open the Cubase mixer (F3) and insert Vokator FX into the
stereo group channel as an insert effect.
Click the Edit button to display the VOKATOR user interface.
You can control and edit all of the VOKATOR parameters here.

In this way, you can connect any two tracks (including live signals)
to VOKATOR. Depending on the VOKATOR mode, you can
use any of the input options for the vocoder engine (for more on
this, refer to the VOKATOR Input Selection chapter).
• Switch to the Cubase project window and create a new MIDI
track (if not already created).
• Point to the output settings box for the track and click it. This
opens a drop-down list with all of the available MIDI outputs
that can be assigned to the track. Select Vokator FX from the
list.
You should now be able to play the synthesizer in VOKATOR using
a connected MIDI keyboard. The VOKATOR synthesizer output
is sent directly to the VST mixer and from there to the sound
card. If the plug-in does not receive MIDI data or no sound is
generated, check the following two possible causes to solve the
problem:
• Make sure that “MIDI thru” is selected in Cubase.
• Make sure that you have properly configured your sound card
for use in Cubase."

I have followed everything exactly so i can only assume there is some kind of problem doing this.

I hope u understand what i am trying to achieve, and hopefully one or a couple of u have has this exact problem and overcame it.

cheers i appreciate any help, thanks.

i just ignored what it said in the manual and used the audio channel insert whilst remembering to activate the monitoring button.
