It's difficult to overstate the difference a well-chosen selection of keyboard shortcuts can make to your workflow.

Don't bother with sitting down to work out what you need to define though; next time you're working on a track, make shortcuts for each major function you use as you go along; try and use keys that relate to the function (eg. I use the '=' to put audio in a part because the lines of the '=' remind me of the top and bottom lines of an audio part). Then when you've made a shortcut, use it a couple of times just for the hell of it - this will start the process of associating the function with the shortcut. Then carry on working. Next time you want to perform that function again, try and remember to use the shortcut... Don't write them down though, as this'll make it harder to actually remember them and you'll rely on your list too much. Besides, there's always the built-in list in SX if you really forget. I reckon that pretty soon they'll become second nature and you'll be hot-keying your way round SX like a pro.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

The extent this can be taken to is pretty amusing... I watched Joti Sidhu work on a track once, and... he doesn't even use the mouse. It's was like he's typing a term paper.
