Hello,
Just recently got off my lazy backside to read the Cubase manual on how to configure shortcuts to make my work process a bit easier. Don't have any setup so far, but would be really interested what everyone else has configured -
which one's can you not live without ?
Probably the most important one for me would be mixdown audio section and import back into project. |

S & Z are the most needed . But all this topic
is look & sound like a boring man who is be
lazy to open the help program main and all
this simple books who show it the first page .

i cant work without short cuts! its the only way to work in cubase.
design your own short cuts. i got short cuts for audio processing like bounce or reverse and for midi functions like transpose or fixed velocity etc..
the more the better!

Cardinal - i was'nt talking about the standard shortcuts. I was referring to shortcuts that you have setup yourself |

note transpose
i dont kwow if this function remains in actual cubase versions...
select your notes in a midi clip and do
shift + up / down to transpose the sequence one octave.

i use the same default shortcuts as already mentioned. additional selfmade ones:
alt + a = import audiofile
# = all tracks same height (one line or so)
. = in midi-editor: all notes same lenght and same velocity (macro)
ctrl + g = instant goldray

if you press ctrl while adjusting a note's length in key editor, it ignores the length Q setting. i find that to be really handy when adding some quick note length variations |

Here are some of my custom shortcuts... I also make extensive use of many of the default ones. Keyboard shortcuts are the key ('scuse the pun) to productivity and ease of expression.
<ctrl><shift>R - reverse
<ctrl><shift>N - normalise
<ctrl><shift>B - bounce selection
- zoom overview (macro)
<shift> - fit all tracks on screen
<ctrl> - fit project length on screen
<ctrl><shift><alt>Z - undo zoom
<alt>S - zoom selected events
<ctrl><alt>X - export audio
<alt gr>I - import audio
` - default workspace
= - put audio event in part
- - dissolve part
# - convert to real copy
[ & ] - previous and next snap type
{ & } - previous and next grid type
<ctrl>[ & <ctrl>] previous and next quantise value
<alt> and keyboard numbers select different quantise values
I also change my tool modifiers so that ghost copies are created by holding down <cntrl> and real copies by holding down <alt>, like it was in Cubase v1... old habits die hard
