Cubase questions

Hi 2 All!
I have some problem with cubase.
First i need to understand how i can use effects on midi track?
I have only few midi-effects that cubase show me in midi track, but all great plugin (VST or DXI) i can use only on audio track in cubase.
I dont belive that i cant use VST instrument in conjunction with VST effect. It is possible?
It is possible to turn on this effects on midi track?
Second.
I just buy Oxygen-8 (midi keyboard with controllers), thanx a lot to all for advice  I'am flying now )
8 rotary knobs!!! Waau!!
But i can use this knobs only in reason - right click on virtual controller -> Edit midi remote mapping. And you can map Oxygen controller to virtual controller in Subtractor for example.
How i can use it with cubase?
Reason great synt, but as sequenser Cubase more flexible. I wonna use Cubase, with VST instruments, with VST effects on it, and Reason as synth. |

well, u can`t use effects on midi channels.
midi is not audio which you can put plugins on, midi its just information (notes & controllers) who tell your external synth, samplers what to play.

and how i need to use this plugins?
First convert to audio, and then apply plugin?
not for me  i feel TOO lazy
Does it possible to reroute VST instrument output to something where cubase CAN use plugins?
Or maybe there is another way to do this? |

Hey G6!
Maybe you should search in the forum (it really helps a lot), anyways here is the answer (for cubase sx):
1.- write your midi track, then press F3 key to activate your project's mixer find the bus in which your midi track is making "noise", click the "E" button on it and another window will appear, select the effect you want to apply to your track and Njoy

Is there are examples of trance compositions anywhere?
in cubase or something else.
I just download one reason example from Infected musroom site.
I cant do anithing like this in nearest 2 year.
It's too complicated!

Hey Jesus the track you are talking about is Yakir Ben Tov's track also known as Side Effect, he released a couple of tracks in Tranclucent compilations and also in Safi connection compilation and Internationalism 2.
As for your Cubase question:
First of all for the demonstration start an empty project with 8 audio channels.
Then, choose Devices menu-->Devices setup
Now from the right side push Add/Remove-->Generic Remote and then add.
Now on the left menus you see new option, Generic Remote. Choose it and press setup in the right.
Ok, now in MIDI input choose In USB Keystation
Then, play with the oxygen knobs and using the Learn button in the right, you should see CC number change in upper form in the "Address tab". Do the same routine for all of the 8 knobs. After you finished finding 8 CC's assign them to various controls, to the mixer faders for example. That is done in the lower form. You should see there clearly how it's done.
If you run into problems i have no problem of sending you the presets file for Oxygen8,

where it can be? i look for lead sound with faster change tembre - like suria - very like this man |
