Hi, I'm having problems with a cubase project that I was just about to finish.
When i open the file it crashes cubase just when the arranger window appears.
I'm running win7 x64 and cubase 5.1.1.
If i rename my VST folder so that cubase will not be able to find it then it do not crash, but I have so far been unable to figure out which plugin that causes it to crash. I save in increments and the strange ting is (i'm currently at 07) I have to go all the way back to increment 03 before the project loads correct, and at this point not a lot of work was done (07 is almost ready to mix).
I recently installed S1 because I'm planing to change DAW, but I don't see how this could affect one of my cubase projects (other projects works fine..)
The track was about to be send to Odd for mastering and I was really looking forward to this, so I hope that someone can help me..

Some other things you can check:
what is written in the chrash log file?
did you update any drivers, specially for grafix, mouse, keyboard or usb?
Installed new vsti?
are there problems with your ram?
hope it helps...

I had a similar problem last night with a vst crashing my lastest save.
I deleted(trashed) the prefs which someone told me to do. Im still on XP so not sure if its same on win7?, but go to ------- C:\Documents and Settings\(your user account)\Application Data\Steinberg\Cubase 5...Delete all the folders apart from yellow ones, and leave key commands. This is like a fresh install without reinstalling.I would do a system retore checkpoint first incase |

Just a little update on this. I still dit not manage to get the project open again. I am going to try again at some point, but right now I just want to make some noise so I started a new project.
Now fully switched from Cubase to S1, and never looking back
