Cubase pool preview help!!!!!

Hello guys. I have been trying to rectify this problem of late, but without any success.
I am not able to listen to the preview of any sample, when u open the pool section to import sounds. I had no problem with it watsoever , till last week. Any sample i click on ... it plays... but no sound comes! Has anybody come across a similar problem?? If somebody has a remedy .. plz do lemme know!

if not,go to devices->vstConnections then click the studio tab and set at the device port the correct output of your soundcard
