Cubase: Plugins in Midi Channel....

Hey guys. I just made a big switch from Ableton to Cubase and i've pretty much got it figured out but theres one thing I just dont get and I just dont know what to do.
The problem is I want to add plugins to my midi channel. For example, Ive got my bass notes all ready and I want to add something like a Vintage Warmer plugin or a Waves EQ. I cant do this untill ive turned it into an audio file. What gives? I think im doing it properly, going to the inserts section and stuff, but instead of getting my massive collection of plugins and VSTs, all I get are a handfull of Cubase pre-packaged vst effects.

Go to plugin information and specify your plugin destination... you probably havent done that and cubase dont know were your plugins are.
its in the device menu!

Probably you're trying to insert the plugin on the MIDI track. You need to apply it on the insert of the VSTi instead. Push "F3" and find the instrument playing your midi notes, but don't choose the midi track.. There, u found it? now just open it up and put any VST plugin as an insert to the instrument  |

freeflow sorry but your going the wrong way here...
what he gets is the midi chanel inserts.
l!l all you have to do is open the VST chanel and not the midi chanel. thats all. what your seeing is stuff like the arpegiator and autopan and stuff like that. those are midi inserts.
on your left side of the screen your supossed to be seeing 2 channels the top one is the midi chanel where you route your midi to a certain vst plugin who for example plays your bass(or whatever)
than you will see another channel beneath it which is the vst channel. all you need to do is insert what you want there and thats it.
 if u dig deep enough u just might reach the sky...
