cubase noise problem

hey everyone,
i got a new computer, conroe E6600, and im using cubase sx 3. when i load more then 8 vst instruments the vst synth makes noise when i play them like if my cpu is overloaded or something but im actualy using only 15%.so if anyone have any suggestions, it would be great.is their a chance that it has to do something with my memmory? i got 1G of memmory and never had a memmory problem on my old pc. |

Sounds like buffer underruns. Try increasing your audio drivers buffer settings, they are probably to low. I'm on sx2, tink the procedure is a bit different for sx3. Have a look in the manual for audio buffer settings. also, make sure you are using asio drivers. If you are using the internal soundcard you can try the asio4all drivers, they are free, just google em. |

im using delta 44 and my driver the maudios one,
my buffer is 768 and my latency is around 18ms |

Hmm, you can try upping the latency to 50ms, if that doesnt help then it's not the buffer size that causes the problem.
Are you running an antivirus program at the same time? those can hog a lot of resources.
It's not a demo vst that's making the noise?
I don't think it's the memory unless you are running romplers or samplers with large patches, try ctrl,alt,del to see how much memory you are using, and also check if there are other prosesses running that's using cpu.

have you checked the Cpu meter in cubase? maybe some synth are making spikes...
is it 8 instances of z3ta+ with all osc on? haha

nop, the cpu is only 15% and stable.
i use a lot of albinos wich is a pretty heavy synth but i dont think its the problem |

might be a "bad" vst plugin. try to remove any older or "suspect" vst's and check.

If this is indeed the case then take said vst plugin out of the plugins folder, give it a good spanking & make it sit in the corner until it learns to behave

yup,
the problem is the discovery vst when i open more then one discovery the other discoverys make noise and crumble, it doesnt happen with the rest of the vst instruments. its wierd because i never had this problem on my old pc. |
