cubase monitoring problem

hello everyone
something wierd happend to me while recording audio into cubase.
while changing the latency of the sound card
the "monitoring" function stoped working.
so i can record myself but i can not hear what i am recording while recording it.
ive tried everything from changing it back to reseting but nothing seems to work i think it might be a bug,
does anyone have any suggestions? |

Check if the direct monitoring in the Device Setup>VST Multitrack is ticked. If yes deactivate it. I had the same problem and it was from this.

but what do you is the problem with direct monitoring?

I'm glad that your problem is solved.
Honestly, i really don't know what's the use of direct monitoring and what the setting must be. I have a suspicion that it might have to do something with the soundcard's specs. For example, mine(Tascam US-122) has a knob called "Direct Monitor" and a On/Off switch for that. But i never tried it to see if it works. When i do i'll PM you to let you know the results. |

direct monitoring is when you recording in input 1+2 for exemple you will hear the monitor from output 1+2 (with out latency) |
