It´s an Acid loop? Because acid loops fits in tempo automatically in Cubase (At least at SX3 version, afaik)

maybe because those files have some info (i think something related to ACID) and the bpm is there. try switching the timebase between musical and linear of the track you're importing before importing.
if not, it can be a sample rate problem but i think not but anyway, right click the sample and Process -> Resample

when u import loops the program auto modify it to feet the bpm u use now ...
theres a couple of ways to remake the origional bpm:
1.in the upper side of the page thers a tab called pool , go into it then click- open pool window , look 4 your imported audio file , its name , then in musical tab unmark it .
2.u right click on the wave u bring , go to process ,
go to time stretch , open it ..
left side original bpm right side the used bpm .
hoped i'v helped u or anyone else ...
