Hi I was thinking... Is it possible in Cubase sx 3 (yes i know it´s outdated..) to take midi notes en a part and chop them up in a speciffic pattern ie. given in another midi part, resulting in the pitch of the original midi and the pattern of the second midi. Say I have some pads and want to chop them up to sound more like a lead. Of cause this could be done with a gate (maybe mgtrigger gate), but what if I want to do it permantly to make it editable?
Does it make sense?

I don't know a way you can specifically copy the pitch without the pattern but you could copy the MIDI part from your pad sound and chop the notes up with the scissors tool to make a different rhythms with the same notes.
