Windows 98 seems most stable,
With Windows 2000 I have experienced a lot of problems, however if you get it updated it shoudl work just fine, it also matters on what sound card you have...

The sp2 should be downloadable at msn.com

i believe its more about the machine, the computer the processor and the ram, and how you optimize your system, windows 95/98 are probably the best since the drivers for sound cards, midi interfaces have been around for more (even though stop creating new drivers for them) I hear 2000 nt is good, I have Windows XP its killer but it performs crap compared to 98 on my slow machine

hey!
i was asking the same question when i used Cubase
in win98 and then i installed 2000...
in win98 - worked perfectly, never stucks
in Win2k - Can't play a sample for 3.5 mins without getting a Blackout.. or a bluescreen!
so i say win98 is the best although i never trien winXP and mabe never will!
:D

---------

I do my musics on that system... it's good, but some new programs, like Reason, doesn't work... they don't have any versions for Win95... But my Cubase works... so, if you want to have new programs, install Win98...

I have 2 (aka two, shtaim, dva) computers in my house. Both are running WinME.
But right not I'm writing from only 1 (aka one, ehad, adin) computer so I used the singular, and the plural in the sograim.
