iv'e been using reason mainly and just recently got a version of cubase 5.0 vst32 and need a bit of help....i have no trouble in setting up midi channels etc but for some reason i will import an audio channel with a wav file but when i play it back the sequencer will play nothing but silence.. what am i missing? is there something else i have to assign to this channel or activate... help much appreciated guys...... |

if u have only single stereo output or all of multi outs are connected to a console, skip to 2.
1) check out which output pair is connected to the amp/speakers.
2) check out that you can hear these "audio files in other program
3) check out that u didn't mute the audio channel somehow ( in the arrangement or the audio mixer)
4) check out that you use the correct audio dirver
5) check out that "system mixer" - of your card isn't muted/lowed
6) - if u have a console mixer, see that the correct faders are faded not too much :)

Check your inputs - in each audio track you can choose were to get the sound from. Maybe you recorded the wrong thing (it happened to me). |

also chack the channel colunm. see where the sound goes to. & look at the mixer (ctrl+*) at that channel if the spectral analyzer shows anything... good luck. & my advice is , start with cubase 3.7. it's much friendlier! |

thanks guys...all is good ;) every time cubase had loaded the soundcard would be reset at -85db...overlooked the obvious.. rewire time... |
