Hey there.

I've been using Cubase for about 2 months now and feel very well with it.

Now, my problem is that it seems that my projects are crashing, and I dont know why. After I've been working for a long time in Cubase with lot's of VSTi's and effects, it crashes next time I open the project. It seems to have CPU overload problems, and I cant hear anything. All I hear is a scratch when I open the project.

What's the problem!?

I use Cubase SX 2.2.0.35
P4 2.4 Ghz, ESI Julia sound card

this is what i do to correct this when it happens.. firstly turn off or mute your monitors. then open cubase, then open your project. now hit "F12" and notice that cpu usage is at 100%.

go to a free slot on the vst channel window ("F11") and add any synth (i usually add vb1 cause of its short time in loading) then remove it. now your memory is back to 60-70% where it was before you closed the project the last time you were working on it.

suggestion. free up some cpu by converting things into audio and releasing the vst overload

I just found out that DivX 5.2 caused the problem! very weird

Then I have another question, when you are adding effects to a VSTi, then you have to add them in VST Instruments -> VST Instrument Audio channel. Sometimes it's gone? and I cant change it!?

Well.. it seems as a PC problem, i have some possible fixes to ur problem:

1) You try to fix it re'installing Cubase SX?

2) Take a look into your Application Logs under the Windows Logs, next look for the problem when Cubase is crashed, with the output of the log you have detailed info about the real problem in your software.

3) Try cleaning the PC Registry, you have a lot of options... look google.com-resgistry cleaners.

4) If you dont know how can u fix it, contact me at my msn hipsylon[at]rex.co.il and i will try to fix your pc remotely! ]¬)
