After having a couple of months to digest the psy-trance course, I have a couple of criticisms:
1) Using expensive hardware VSTis for a good majority of the tutorials - in many of your videos you use the Virus to create sounds and patches..thats a really freakin expensive piece of hardware and I doubt the majority of your potential user-base has one of them. certainly you do-over some of the tuts with Albino or w/e, but I was frustrated with the ammt of stuff you did with hardware :\ - Seems that a philosophy of teaching more general principal as opposed to very specific patches would be better for the user in the long run
2) video quality - super grainy, very hard to see what is going on a lot of the time.
3) the 'why' you are doing things - seems a lot of the time you just re-arrange notes and stuff based on your own previously learned methods, which is fine but your stated goal is to teach, and I personally enjoy teachers who describe *why* they choose certain notes as opposed to 'ok, this sounds good so we'll do it this way' - some more theory would go a long way
that being said, still a significant resource for the fledgling producer, cheers

Ok, I think I give a quick review too.
At first I have to say, that this course was what made me going deeper into this stuff nearly half a year ago.
I learned a lot from it and mostly it showed me what I really have to learn and train.
Big thanks for that!
So..now to the ranting part:
I have to agree with the stuff posted above me.
When I watched the course, it became pretty obvious that most of the ideas for the track were created before. Often things are added and arranged and the viewer has no clue why...why at that place?/why this sound? and so on... A little bit more explanation would have been nice at those points...
Hm, I just notice that I mostly repeat what was written before, so I'll stop here
I dont want to sound too negative, as said the course still has shown me a lot and cleared some mysteries for me.
Too bad I paid the old pice tho, as that was a bit high, compared to other paid tuts/courses....still worth the money tho
Cheers,
Kryten

HI Guys,
Just a little feedback on the criticisms if I may.
The reason i used the Virus TI was due to a survey i created asking what people would like to see in a psy trance course and this came up very high in the list of requests. Also as you stated i did show you how to make "similar" sounds using more popular vsti`s but point taken.
Hmm i have had very little negative feedback on video quality so i am surprised with this as the video quality i thought was above average for the video sizes but again i will look into this when i re-launch my new site which may be going down the streaming path, not sure yet.
There was, from the beginning, no intention of showing theory in this video course as there will be a seperate course showing how to use theory in dance music. This course was simply, as advertised to show people how I made the track in the promo video. I deliberately avoided any Theory (well almost) to keep it as simple as possible.
Thanks for the criticisms, they are appreciated and will be taken on-board and as always i will endevour to reach better standards and now as i use a Beta tester system for all my courses things should be smoother and more digestable in the future
Just also to let everyone know the 30% deal finishes on the 30th April.
Many thanks
Mark
