True, i just don't want to be a beta tester for steinberg for free!

Do let us know how you get along with it, i might get it too based on your feedback!

I get it on Monday, I'll use it for a few days and then give some detailed feedback for those interested.

Just installed Cubase 5 today...I'll give it a run for a while and get back to you guys....

First thoughts...LoopMash is actually EXTREMELY cool!!! Wow!

I didn't think I'd be in to this tool but it's awesome!

So far today It seems as stable as Cubase 4.5.2           ~Airyck~

I have been really busy lately sorry for the delay. I still don't have much time but will give you my full thoughts as soon as I can.

What I can say right now is that it is definitely as stable as Cubase 4.5.2

I haven't had enough time to delve into all of the new features yet but the ones I have, have worked well.

The best advise I can give with this limited time is to make sure that the new features you see are worth it to you.

As far as stability you have nothing to worry about.

right know i m learning on FL. But do you think would be better start learning direct from cubase? it cant be this far dificult than FL, i mean.. they are all created for the same purpose..

i always wanted to use Cubase, but people always says that is soo complicated, want to know if it is true...

the difference between the sequencers only becomes apparent after you work with them for a while and see which one YOU like best. for the most part, they all do the same thing. it's the minor things that are done differently and these things just *click* for some people and that's how they know they prefer THAT sequencer.

if you are already learning FL, then just stick with it, simply because of the time you already put into it (even if it's just a couple of months at this point). once you become familiar with it and start to discover some things that are *awkward* for your way of working, then you can start to look at how other sequencers handle it. at least you'll have some specific criteria to evaluate them.

so i'd say stick with FL and concentrate on principles and not worry about this stuff. once you know what you are doing, if you decide to switch, it'll only take you a couple of weeks to adjust to a different program and then you can learn the more advanced features as they are needed.

Thanks for opnion septa

First i tought it would be better to wait and start learn in Cubase. But i will have to wait cause of the money to buy it, and a new lap etc cause mine i think cant handle it. But after I heared a brazilian trance album (goa) that was all made in FL8 Studio, I just downloaded the damn thing right away and start studyng it. I m a begginer but every day a discover and learn new things on it. It has been awsome, even knowing that more important to know the stuff is to get praticed with the stuff, but i hope this will come with time.

Note: The album that was entirely made on FL is:

GoAcid - Dimensao Extendida

You can download it here:

http://rapidshare.com/files/171324679/GoAcid-DimensaoExtendida-2008_-_PPC.rar

or here

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=L98NTGNL

The track i like most is the first one, but the album is very well made, and showed to me that FL can be as good as logic, cubase, or any other DaW.

so..i've been using the program for a month now,i'm about to finish my second track with it and i'm very impressed! it has been working perfectly on my system, only twice,i had a problem with Syncrosoft,i had to run it's application and refresh in order to accept the license..
loving the new features, especially the beat designer/Groove agent combination (at last step sequencer for perc) , vari audio is lots of fun!
there seems to be some sort of a bug with the new automation system, but i haven't really dug into it..
in all,i'm very happy with c5 and for those who skipped c4 and are coming from sx3 (like me) it's really a bargain!

cheers

what's the advantage of using it over doing it the regular way through piano roll/drum lanes?

I basically skipped 4 entirely and waited until 5 was announced to upgrade so I would get 5 free. My 2 copies of 4 arrived a couple of weeks back (haven't used it for more than 5 minutes though) and I just made the call for my free upgrades to 5 so I should have some new goodies to play with soon.           New Album: Jikkenteki - Flights Of Infinity
