hey,
i remember in fl studio there was a wet knob next to each effect on a track, so even if the effect itself didnt have a wet knob (like an eq) u could still control the wet amount with automation..
is that possible in cubase? what i wanna do it add a high pass eq on a track, and be able to make smooth transitions between 0 and 100 % of the eq's wet amount, (0 being pure bypass)

i found a way now, with fx channel and sends.
but it's kinda clumsy.
to have 100% wet i need to turn the track volume to 0
and the fx channel volume to 100
and vice versa to get 0% wet.
this means 2 automations for each..
any way of doing that neater? |

i kinda fail to see a good reason for using an eq as FX actualy. What are you trying to achieve?

Sends and inserts are not the same...
they dont afect audio in the same way
by using an fx send your not afecting the whole signal, but only a parallel part of it... while an insert it indeed afect the whole signal...
i understand the complainment, but like i said many times before... cubase is a hype
that is only a small example of its limitations compared to others...
people say "herm... every plugin have wet"
its not a matter of the plugin have it, its a matter of the mixing resources and a posibilities, the way its affected or not...
cuting 30% of a delay signal on a source is one thing...
cutting 30% in post mixing is other thing...
its a matter of acuracy...
but remember, SENDS are not inserts, dont fool your self...
sends are good for chorus and reverb, inserts are suit best other kind of tricks..
