i always automate with midi cc, but somtimes if you dont know the midi cc of the parameter its easier to automate through the cubase automation using generic remote.
but the problem is, is that when you automate through the cubase automation and then duplicate the midi pattern that is automated the automation doesnt duplicate with the midi channel unlike when you automate useing the midi cc.
so my question is, if there is anyway to automate through the cubase automation and still have it "glued" to the midi pattern that is automated?
hope i am understude
thanx in advance |

Also remember that you don't have to leave the automation lane down there on the bottom way out of view, you can drag the single lane you're automating up to sit directly beneath the corresponding MIDI, so you can easily see & select them both when moving something.

i do that but its still not the same as when using the automation in the midi pattern. |

tried it and its really easier to work that way even the automation in the key editor is still more friendly, i have to admit that i neglected the shortcuts to much time but now im getting the hang of them and they really make my life alot easier

I'm not totally sure I understand the question but here goes...
Use the 'MIDI Control' MIDI plugin on the MIDI track. You can use Cubase automation with up to 8 MIDI controllers with each one. Also in SX you can directly automate any MIDI controller straight from the MIDI track. With both these methods I think the automation should follow the MIDI part when you move it - check the Edit menu for an option which relates to this

didnt know about the "midi control" but you still need to know the midi cc of the parameter you are automating in order to use it, in that case its more friendly to automate directly in the key editor.
i meant a situation where you dont know the midi cc of the parameter you are automating in that case you need to use the generic remote option and then automate through the cubase automation (like when you automate using the mouse) and then you have a situation where the automation is not attached to the midi pattern you automated so when you duplicate or cut/paste the midi pattern the automation doesnt go with what you automated and its makes your work flow floppy.
hope im better understude |

Hello guis! Can anybody help me for read an automation in Cubase sx3 with a midi keyboard (m-audio oxygen8). For example, if I want cut off or make release or attack with the rotary control knobs. Can anybody make me a simple example? Thank you
