I think this update is a nice way to say that from now on you are on ur own . and p.s. buy c6 if u want a new GUI

Normally the release of a new .0 version says that. Their thread says they started working on 5.5.3 after they'd made the final 6.0 - they didn't have to do that. Or do you think they're lying, and had made 5.5.3 a long time ago and are releasing it now to make us 5.x users feel warm and fuzzy about them?

if the software still has bugs then they should not stop working to improve the program,
not everybody wants to buy the latest version of the program, but at the same time don't want to
fight the buggs left in the old version. I do not wish to say that this version is full of bugs
because I do not use cubase, but by the posts on different forums I know that the previous versions
were abandoned with a lot of bugs still in them.

nah i didnt say they were lying but they did do it so u feel warm and fuzzy They learned from their previous mistakes (previous versions) when they just left the old version and released the new version angry users were giving off a lot of baaad publicity
and this update is really rediculous, they fixed one knob that apparently always stayed 100% wet when
placed on the fx channel and imported a couple more codecs for video. I bet they spent more than an hour on that update

You have any definite information that the improvements to the video engine they mention are just "importing a couple more codecs"? You may well be right about their motivations for releasing this new update - after all, their customer relations and update policies have been fucking shocking in the past and I'm sure they realise the need to improve - but if you're going to slag Steinberg off you should at least get your facts straight
Cubase 5.5.2 is rock-solid as it is, by the way; most of the improvements they're talking about for 5.5.3 will not affect me at all as I don't use video or the VST bridge.

i don t remember exaclty but i think it s one of the bugs they introduced with the 5.5 update ... glad they fix it , it was like hey we introduce some bugs in the last update switch to cubase 6 if you want them fixed... it would have been bad publicity for sure , they had to fix this ...funny that we are all suprised for a bug fix haha |

I'm still on cubase 4 here, but nice to see that they haven't abandoned the 5 users... yet
