Is it a placebo, or has my move from SX3 to 5 improved the sound. Everything seems a bit more solid? Better summing engine? Even just mixing sounds nicer.

Maybe its me.

you could find it out by flipping the phase on two samples exported from sx3/5 and see what remains           http://www.myspace.com/fragletrollet

i felt this too. but i also moved to a different apartment and was hearing old tracks in the new room and with c5 for the first time. so i don't know which affected this more (most likely the room). either way, the difference was very noticeable.           https://soundcloud.com/dead-end-dance

I don't think steinberg did anything to improve the sound engine. I thought i felt a difference when i first upgraded as well.

It could also be the fact that the control room mixer, is set to +6 by default (louder always seems better).           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic
